• Founder's Day - Founder's Day observance provides the Brothers a yearly opportunity not only to pay homage to our Founding Jewels, but to re-dedicate themselves to the aims, ideals and programs of Alpha Phi Alpha. Each year, an outstanding Brother is selected to provide the keynote address. The banquet is always well attended and Brothers leave with a new, rejuvenated Alpha Spirit.

• Family Picnic - Beta Lambda believes in the importance of the Black family. The Annual Family Picnic is one, very popular effort that the Chapter has implemented to nurture this concept. The interaction of fathers, sons, wives, daughters and grandchildren provides a positive image and role model in an environment that is relaxed, fun-filled and entertaining.

• Sweetheart Party -  For Valentine's Day, Beta Lambda holds a Sweetheart Party for the wives and sweethearts of Brothers. This allows the Brothers an opportunity to thank their companions for their support and provides an evening of fun, fellowship and entertainment. The wives and sweethearts look forward to this affair and attendance is always a must on a Brother's calendar.

• Spring Formal/Afrocentric Ball -- A touch of class! Beta Lambda sponsors this dinner and dance not as a fundraiser, but as our way of saying thanks to our friends, family and the community for supporting us through the year. Mid 1990's, an afrocentric theme was added. Guests are invited to wear African attire as an alternative to formal wear.

• Oldies But Goodies -- A celebration of the past! This is one of our most popular functions of the year due to its laid back atmosphere, variety of food and refreshments and look back at some of our best of times! The function is traditionally a sellout, with guests looking forward to each successive Oldies function.

• New Year's Eve Affair -- A formal salute to the passing year and joyous welcome to the coming year. This has also traditionally sold out due to its inherent value of all you can eat, drink and dance for one relatively bargain price

• Summer Jamm -- This marks the first year for this event, billed as the city's largest indoor picnic. The atmosphere, food and entermainment closely mirrors our Oldies But Goodies party.
