A key element of the partnership is Project Alpha, which Alpha Phi Alpha and the March of Dimes began collaboratively implementing in 1980. This project is designed to provide education, motivation and skill-building on issues of responsibility, relationships, teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases for young males ages 12-15 years. Project Alpha consists of a series of workshops and informational sessions conducted by Alpha Phi Alpha men. Brothers participating in the 2009 March for Babies at the Kansas City Power & Light District included (pictured, left to right): Front Row - Brian Gray, Jonathan B. Smith, Jim Perkins; Second Row - March of Dimes Chairman Quinton Fears, George Ramsey; Third Row - Albert Ray, Leonard Le'Doux; Back Row - Beta Lambda President Randy Hall, Anthony Cooper, Andrew Hicks.
